WASHINGTON, DC – The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC), a national non-partisan organization, awarded Representative Stephen Webber (MO-46) its “Good Guy” award as part of its 22nd Biennial Convention today in Washington DC. The “Good Guy” awards were established to honor men from all backgrounds who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of women’s rights and gender equality.
“I’m honored to receive the ‘Good Guy’ award from the National Women’s Political Caucus,” said Rep. Stephen Webber. “Ensuring women are treated equally in the workplace is not just an economic issue, it’s a family issue and it’s simply unfair to do otherwise. For too long the state legislature has ignored what families need to make ends meet, let alone get ahead. In the State Senate I will continue to value our families and fight so every Missouri family has an opportunity to get ahead.”
Webber was nominated for his legislative work supporting gender pay-equity and the Missouri Non-discrimination Act by Missouri’s Women’s Political Caucus president Paula Willmarth.
The NWPC, founded in 1971, is a national, non-partisan, grassroots membership organization dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process and working for equality.
Rep. Stephen Webber is an attorney and the senior member of the Boone County House delegation. Prior to his election to the Missouri House, he served two tours in Iraq as a Marine Infantryman and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
